As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated IoT R&D Engineer to join our team in developing our new Condition-based Maintenance Platform for Railway Infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the R&D team to design, develop and implement IoT solutions for our Condition-based Maintenance Platform
- Contribute to the integration of hardware and software components of the IoT system, including sensors, devices, gateways, and cloud-based data platforms
- Handle the collection, structuring, and transport of large volumes of data generated by IoT devices
- Develop and optimize cloud-based data processing systems
- Apply AI and ML models and techniques to enhance the capabilities of our IoT system
- Implement cybersecurity measures and best practices across the IoT system
- Ensure all IoT solutions are tested, reliable, scalable and adhere to company and industry standards
- Participate in the development of product roadmaps and strategic planning
- Prepare technical documents and specifications
- Provide technical support to customers and colleagues as required
Profile
- University Master degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines. PhD profiles are also welcome
- 5+ years of experience in IoT systems development is a plus, but new graduates will also be considered
- Proven experience with programming languages like C++, C#, Java, and Python
- Familiarity with IoT hardware and software, data collection and structuring, and cloud-based data processing
- Experience with software development tools, such as Git, JIRA, or Visual Studio
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall
- Good understanding of AI and ML models and techniques relevant to IoT systems
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Able to work in a highly complex and international environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Dutch, both written and verbal (French is a plus)
